Event Overview

Police canine handlers and supervisors must clearly understand their roles and responsibilities as they, along with their municipal employer, may face a potentially high liability exposure particularly when there is a lack of clear canine policies and protocol. This workshop will review K9 use of force policies, report writing and supervisor liability. It will also review the legal aspects of K9 and human body camera protocol, K9 bite investigations and search and seizure. Police K9 handlers and command staff are encouraged to attend.
