Open to DVWCT and DVPLT members at no cost.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are approximately 36,000 serious chain saw injuries each year.  Proper safety equipment and operation can greatly reduce the risk of injury when using a chainsaw.  This full day workshop will build on information presented during the Basic Chainsaw Safety program, and participants will have the opportunity to fell trees at the end of the class.

• Participants must have previously completed the Basic Chainsaw Safety training within one year of the Advanced Chainsaw Training.
• Training is outside the entire day, rain or shine.
• All PPE gear is required while outside training. Hard hats, gloves, eye and ear protection, boots, and safety chaps are required. The safety chaps can be shared if needed. 
• All attendees will participate to fell a tree.
• The instructor will have a chainsaw, but attendees are encouraged to bring a chainsaw, if one is available.
