Police emergency vehicle operations courses (EVOC) are taught by seasoned police instructors. The prime objectives of these hands-on, skill-based seminars are: (1) officer safety, (2) protection of innocents and (3) successful law enforcement.
This one (1) day course is designed for officers who routinely are assigned to drive a SUV or prisoner transport vehicles. This course will provide officers with an opportunity to apply the skills they learned during the Basic EVOC course while driving a larger vehicle. Defensive driving techniques and emergency response tactics will be demonstrated to and practiced by those attending. The course will be 1/2 day behind the wheel driving skills that includes a response course as well as a skill course that will include backing. Students must successfully complete written and practical exams to receive certification for the course.
Officers attending should report in old clothes by 8:00 a.m. Officers attending must bring a police department owned SUV or prisoner van to drive on the driving range.
Lunch will not be provided but there are several restaurants nearby.

This course consists of four hours in the classroom and four hours of practical driving skills. The goal of the course is to train sedan drivers in collision prevention techniques. In teaching these techniques, the course also promotes an attitude of mutual understanding, courtesy, and cooperation on the road. Topics covered include general backing techniques, foul weather driving, crash avoidance, parking lot driving and braking techniques.
NOTE: Attendees should bring a sedan, SUV or Pickup that they normally drive, to class in order to participate in the practical evolutions. Students must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid Pennsylvania Operator’s License.
Lunch will not be provided but there are several restaurants nearby.

Harassment and disrespect are serious workplace issues. This workshop reviews the legal definition of sexual harassment and the Title VII law, the consequences of violating company harassment policies, and the impact on employees and the organization. It is designed to be a high-level overview of the law as it applies in all states. Participants will learn what constitutes harassment, why it is so difficult to report it, and how it can be reported with assurance of non-retaliation, resulting in a safer and more productive workplace.

Provision of Mobile Elevated Working Platform (Scissor Lift, Articulating Boom Lift, Manlift, Bucket Truck) in accordance with the requirements set forth by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and in accordance with the guidelines identified under A92.20 by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). This training includes the following: Classroom instruction (approximately 1.0 hour) Quiz (0.5 hour) Review of Personal Fall Arrest Systems (0.5 hour) – when applicable Review of equipment (0.5 hour) Equipment skills evaluation on each type of equipment (approximately 10 to 15 minutes per person for each type of equipment). Class size is limited to a maximum of 12 students per session to facilitate hands-on activities. ***Client must provide the equipment (Scissor Lift, Articulating Boom Lift, Manlift, Bucket Truck) and Personal Fall Arrest System (Harness and Lanyard or SRL). ***Every attendee must provide a Bucket Truck from their municipality. A Bucket Truck can be shared by participants from the SAME municipality.

This training is being provided by the Montgomery County Fire Academy and will be held on June 1, 2026, June 3, 2026 and June 6, 2026. DVWCT and DVPLT Members must attend all three days.
The cost is $110 to $160 per participant depending on location. This training qualifies for a reimbursement. Members must pay for the training first and then submit a receipt for reimbursement to training@dvtrusts.com. In this workshop, leaders will learn facilitation tools to help promote inclusion, recognize differences and establish common ground. Facilitation techniques such as brainstorming will also be demonstrated.
