Additionally, it will examine how agencies ensure they follow their own policies and the serious consequences, including Monell liability, when those standards are not met.

John String is the Chief of Police for Narberth Borough in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, and a co-founder of Aspirant Consulting Group. With more than two decades of law enforcement experience, he specializes in organizational assessments, policy development, accreditation, and leadership training. John has instructed police supervisors and officers across the region on internal investigations, use of force, and de-escalation strategies, with a focus on building community trust and reducing agency liability.
With the Federal Government, and particularly ICE, being significantly more active in their efforts as to immigration and all things related, local government is increasingly being asked to cooperate (or oppose) ICE’s efforts. Recognizing that the issues are complicated and involve political, policy and legal nuances, the panel will give some guidance as to how to respond to ICE’s requests and/or demands for local cooperation and assistance.

David J.
