Retirement of Long-Time Police Psychologist, Dr. Bill McClain

The DVT Risk Control Department is saddened to announce the retirement of long-time DVPLT panel police psychologist, Dr. Bill McClain. His sudden retirement was reportedly hastened due to unspecified health challenges.

Dr. McClain has been a superb vendor partner for over 15 years. He started practicing psychology in 1973, the year Motorola introduced the first mobile phone! Over his many years of service, he has supported DVPLT members by providing pre-hire, fitness-for-duty and ad hoc psychological support. Dr. McClain has proven himself to be a reliable and highly skilled mental health professional. His civility, responsiveness and quality work outputs will be sorely missed. We wish Dr. McClain and his office manager/life-partner, Maria Stella, a long, happy, healthy retirement!

Although two psychologists continue to be available under the program, DVPLT is in the process of vetting additional providers to offer DVPLT members further scheduling flexibility.

The updated flier listing current providers is available here.

For those unfamiliar with the value-added benefit, it is designed to assist DVPLT members by providing the Pa. mandated pre-hire psychological assessment for no additional cost (a $500+ per assessment value). In order to take advantage of the benefit, DVPLT members must use one of the highly vetted panel psychologists listed on the program flier.
