Congratulations to our 2025 Phyllis Lieberman Women’s Trailblazer Scholarship Recipients!

On behalf of the Phyllis Lieberman Scholarship Selection Committee and our Executive Director, Richard L. Mellor, Jr., the Delaware Valley Trusts would like to recognize both Emily Moore of Whitemarsh Township and Ashley Casey of Middletown Township as the 2025 recipients of the Phyllis Lieberman Women’s Trailblazer Scholarship! Each recipient will receive $1,500.00 in scholarship funds to be applied toward educational advancement or professional association membership.

Emily Moore serves as the Program Coordinator at Whitemarsh Township and has been with the Township since 2017. She holds a master’s degree in public administration and studied sports management in undergrad. Like Mrs. Lieberman, Emily is a hardworking individual dedicated to serving the community. She has a strong interest in uplifting women in local government and is an active member of the Women in Parks & Recreation Facebook group. Emily indicated that she would like to use the funds to help defray the cost of attending the upcoming Pennsylvania Recreation & Park Society (PRPS) 78th Annual Conference and Expo in Hershey, which offers attendees access to over 50 educational sessions, an expo hall, and networking opportunities.

Ashley Casey serves as the Executive Assistant to the Township Manager at Middletown Township. She holds a bachelor of science in education. Ashley has held various positions within local government in Bucks County, allowing her to develop a comprehensive understanding of municipal operations and strengthen her commitment to public service. She is passionate about contributing to the promotion of women’s leadership in local government. Ashley would like to focus her studies on Human Resources. She will be attending the upcoming 43rd Annual Public Employer Labor Relations Advisory Service (PELRAS) Conference in Hershey and is interested in exploring additional opportunities in this field.

We are very pleased to welcome Emily Moore and Ashley Casey to our growing list of Trailblazer recipients who continue Phyllis’ legacy of promoting the advancement of women in local government!
