The Workers’ Compensation Team will be issuing new and improved Prescription Cards to each of our members in April 2025. Every employee should receive a Workers’ Compensation (WC) prescription card. Similar to their health insurance card, they should keep this card in a safe and easily accessible place. This card indicates that DVWCT is responsible for all work-related medical care.
In the event of an injury, this card should be provided to the injured employee’s local pharmacy. The pharmacy will follow the instructions on the card, and the prescription will be filled at no cost to the employee—no co-pays, no delays. If an injury occurs over the weekend, the pharmacy may fill a 5-day supply. Approval for the full prescription will be made on the following business day morning once we are back in the office.
The card can also be used for appointments with panel physicians.
Purpose and Scope of the DVWCT Prescription Card:
- Easy access to pharmacies
- Reduction of high-priced billing from private pharmacies
Our Pharmacy Benefit Manager program ensures accurate billing with cost savings due to volume purchasing and contractual agreements. All invoices are submitted to DVWCT and paid directly. No delays, no out-of-pocket expenses for the injured employee.
Be safe and be well,
Your Workers’ Compensation Team
