This 2-part safety leadership workshop is designed to give risk coordinators, managers, and supervisors an understanding of how human performance and behavior significantly affects safety, and provide simple, practical tools and tips to help eliminate and prevent incidents within your organization. It includes the most current thinking and information used by major companies with benchmark safety programs to continuously improve their safety and health programs.
Part 1- Why People Get Hurt and How to Prevent Injuries: we will take a refreshing and introspective look personal acceptable risk, how attitudes and values affect behavior, and discuss examples of how we can influence employees’ attitudes and values through empowerment to help become incident-free.
Part 2- Transforming Injury Investigations into Learning Opportunities (Finding the Second Story): we will challenge you with a thought provoking discussion on human and organizational performance to help understand why things happen move and transform the traditional employee focused incident investigation to a learning opportunity. This rethinking may not only help eliminate and prevent the incident from reoccurring, but also provide opportunity to improve your operations at the same time.
