Event Overview

Open to DVWCT and DVPLT members at no cost.  You must register through the Trust.

This class runs April 15 to 26 – Monday through Friday.

Police emergency vehicle operations courses (EVOC) are taught by seasoned police instructors.  The prime objectives of these hands-on, skill-based seminars are: (1) officer safety, (2) protection of innocents and (3) successful law enforcement.

This ten (10) day, 80 hour course is designed for Police Officers who are assigned to Police Motorcycle Patrol duties. This course will introduce these officers to the uniqueness of Motorcycle Patrol. The course will cover machine nomenclature, slow maneuvering, control, curve negotiation, motorcycle maintenance, night operations, defensive driving techniques and on the street riding. The course will involve classroom instruction and street driving. Students must successfully complete written and practical exams to receive certification for the course.

Officers attending must be properly licensed to operate a motorcycle and must bring a Police Department owned motorcycle, DOT approved helmet, leather gloves (not fingerless gloves), ankle or higher boots, eye protection (wrap around preferred), and rain gear.

Lunch is not included.
