This course is designed to prepare the participant on how to recognize potentially violent situations while offering aspects of a survival mindset for handling an active shooter incident. It provides an overview of the suggested Department of Homeland Security response actions of “Run, Hide, Fight” when confronted with a hostile environment.  It also discusses workplace violence prevention programs and policies including the workplace emergency plan.
